STROUDSBURG, Pa. \u2013 A man accused of using a credit card to steal items from a pool supply store in the Poconos last summer was arrested in New York.<\/p>\n
The Stroud Area Regional Police Department said Kiond Jones, 22, was picked up by the Suffolk County Police Department during an incident Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n
A felony arrest warrant had been filed for Jones last year. That happened after Stroud Area Regional Police said a customer called Pocono Pools & Spa on Route 611 in Stroudsburg on June 17, 2025, and purchased a pool cleaner machine over the phone. Police say the purchase processed, and Jones and another man picked up the item from the store. However, a week later, the transaction worth around $1,378 failed.<\/p>\n
Then on July 1, 2025, police say the two men returned to the store and tried to buy items with the same credit card. While employees tried to identify them, the men fled the store. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Police say the same two males then attempted the same theft at the sister store in Barrett Township, where they were arrested by Pocono Mountain Regional Police and identified as and Jones and Dilan Bryan.<\/p>\n
Stroud Area Regional Police filed charges of access device fraud and theft by deception in November, and a felony arrest warrant was issued for both men.
