{"id":58994,"date":"2025-07-12T07:19:12","date_gmt":"2025-07-12T07:19:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/58994\/"},"modified":"2025-07-12T07:19:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-12T07:19:12","slug":"abc-dominates-with-high-potential-shifting-gears-9-1-1-more-hits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/58994\/","title":{"rendered":"ABC Dominates With &#8216;High Potential,&#8217; &#8216;Shifting Gears,&#8217; &#8216;9-1-1&#8217; &#038; More Hits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/network\/abc\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ABC<\/a> is staying on top, it seems, as Nielsen\u2019s ratings for the September to May broadcast season covering 2024-2025 reveal the network helms the top five broadcast series, including the highest ratings for new comedies and dramas with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/show\/shifting-gears-2025\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Shifting Gears<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/show\/high-potential\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">High Potential<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Among the top five broadcast shows among Adults 18-49 in multiplatform rankings were\u00a0High Potential with a 3.85 rating,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/show\/abbott-elementary\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Abbott Elementary<\/a> with a 3.25 rating,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/show\/the-rookie\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0The Rookie <\/a>with\u00a0 2.49 rating,\u00a0Shifting Gears with a 2.39 rating, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/show\/9-1-1\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">9-1-1<\/a> with a 2.38 rating.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the network owned seven of the top 20 shows among the demo, with the addition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/show\/will-trent\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Will Trent<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/show\/greys-anatomy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/a>, coming in with ratings of 1.64 and 1.62, respectively. Overall, ABC has the most highly-rated shows, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/network\/cbs\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CBS<\/a> with six, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/network\/fox\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fox<\/a> with four, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/network\/nbc\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NBC<\/a> with three.<\/p>\n<p>High Potential came in at number one in the new drama category, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/people\/kaitlin-olson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kaitlin Olson<\/a>-led series more than doubling its closest new competitive drama, CBS\u2019s popular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/show\/matlock-2023\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matlock<\/a>, starring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/people\/kathy-bates\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kathy Bates<\/a>, which ranks with a 1.75 rating. Meanwhile,\u00a0Shifting Gears outpaced its closest competitor, CBS\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/show\/georgie-and-mandys-first-marriage\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Georgie &amp; Mandy\u2019s First Marriage<\/a>, which came in at a 1.79 rating.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1186429\" class=\"wp-image-1186429 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/abbott-elementary-season-4-finale-tyler-james-williams-quinta-brunson-855x570.jpg\" alt=\"Tyler James Williams and Quinta Brunson in 'Abbott Elementary's Season 4 finale\" width=\"855\" height=\"570\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-1186429\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Disney \/ Gilles Mingasson<\/p>\n<p>ABC also claimed the top spot for a returning drama with\u00a0The Rookie, beating CBS\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/show\/tracker\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tracker<\/a>, which came in with a 2.15 rating. As for the top returning comedy, Abbott remains a favorite, edging out CBS\u2019s other popular comedy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/show\/ghosts\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ghosts<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, ABC is keeping a hold on the lead, and such was the case with\u00a0High Potential, which stood as the number one drama among total viewers, with 16.41 million, and number one new show among adults 18-49. The show\u2019s streaming performance on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/network\/hulu\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hulu<\/a> and Hulu on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/network\/disney-plus\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Disney+<\/a> also more than doubled the next highest competitive drama,\u00a0Tracker.<\/p>\n<p>The show grew by over 50 percent in Multiplatform+7 ratings through 35 days of viewing, and for the season, including encores, the show logged early 13 billion minutes-watched on linear and streaming platforms.<\/p>\n<p>What do you think of these rating results?
