JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WAND) \u2014 One person is dead after a Valentine’s Day shooting in Jacksonville.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the Jacksonville Police Department, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 800 block of West Chambers Avenue just after 5:40 p.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n

Police found a person who was shot when they arrived. The victim was taken to the hospital, where they died.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jacksonville PD said the identity of the victim will not be released until the victim’s family is notified.<\/p>\n

The shooting is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Jacksonville Police Department at 217-479-4630 or Crime Stoppers at 217-243-7300.<\/p>\n
