The European Film Commissions Network runs the Location Awards and the winners of its <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/11\/rogue-heroes-to-superman-eufcn-location-awards-jury-film-tv-1236624827\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ninth edition<\/a> were announced at an event during the European Film Market at the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/berlin-film-festival\/\" id=\"auto-tag_berlin-film-festival\" data-tag=\"berlin-film-festival\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Berlin Film Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Canary Islands, an autonomous region of Spain, earned recognition for La Palma, which was nominated as a filming location after Netflix thriller series La Palma shot there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tEach film commission that is an <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/eufcn\/\" id=\"auto-tag_eufcn\" data-tag=\"eufcn\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">EUFCN<\/a> member can submit one location from their territory and La Palma won the overall EUFCN Location Award 2025. The winner was selected by the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/12\/2025-location-awards-noms-the-librarians-the-next-chapter-1236644448\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Location Awards Jury<\/a>, which included Alessandro Bonino from Fremantle\u2019s Wildside, Gail McQuillan from Blueprint Pictures, Caroline von K\u00fchn from Oxbelly, and location managers Andrea Keener and Sue Quinn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIt is the second time the Canary Islands have been recognized with the Location Award, with El Hierro honored in 2019. Natacha Mora, Coordinator at Canary Islands Film, Lorena Mart\u00edn, Project Manager at Canary Islands Film, and Beatriz P\u00e1ez, Island Director of Tourism of the Island Council of La Palma, accepted the latest award.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFigueira da Foz, meanwhile, was nominated after serving as a location shoot on the drama series <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/broken-spies\/\" id=\"auto-tag_broken-spies\" data-tag=\"broken-spies\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Broken Spies<\/a>. It scooped the EUFCN Audience Location Award, which is selected by the public through an online vote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWinning this award shows that Portugal, and particularly Figueira da Foz, offers the right conditions and outstanding locations for major international audiovisual productions.
