Alan Blaylock, the former council member for District 10, resigned prior to the end of his term to run as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alanblaylock.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">state representative for District 93<\/a>. Candidates include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chris Jamieson<\/li>\n<li>Alicia Ortiz<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The city will also have an election for a $845 million bond, per <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/keller-roanoke-northeast-fort-worth\/government\/2026\/02\/11\/fort-worth-city-council-adds-bond-package-charter-changes-to-may-election\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">previous reporting<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Keller residents will have elections for the city\u2019s mayor and for City Council Place 5 and Place 6. Two current and former City Council members are running for the mayoral position, which has also resulted in a <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/keller-roanoke-northeast-fort-worth\/government\/2026\/02\/10\/city-of-keller-to-call-special-election-for-place-4-council-seat\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">special election<\/a> for the Place 4 council seat.<\/p>\n<p>Current council member Chris Whatley is the incumbent for the Place 5 race.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates for the mayor race include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ross McMullin<\/li>\n<li>Tag Green<\/li>\n<li>Ed Prem<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Candidates for Place 5 include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chris Whatley<\/li>\n<li>Ned Brown<\/li>\n<li>Ashley Stone Hernandez<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Candidates for Place 6 include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Charles Randklev<\/li>\n<li>Zane Kupper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Filing for the Place 4 position will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofkeller.com\/about-us\/city-secretary\/election-information\/may-2-2026-general-election\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">start Feb. 18<\/a> and close March 3 at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Roanoke residents will have elections for a total of five ward seats. Three races have incumbent candidates running unopposed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Holly Gray for City Council Ward 1<\/li>\n<li>Brian Darby for City Council Ward 2<\/li>\n<li>Dave Brundage for City Council Ward 3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The city also has two special elections due to two City Council members moving out of Roanoke, which makes them ineligible to serve on the council per <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/keller-roanoke-northeast-fort-worth\/government\/2026\/02\/09\/two-roanoke-city-council-members-vacate-seats-prompt-special-election\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">previous reporting<\/a>. Candidates for the Ward 1 unexpired term include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>John Pullen<\/li>\n<li>Victor Molaschi<\/li>\n<li>Donald J. Glacy<\/li>\n<li>Jeff Barksdale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Candidates for the Ward 2 unexpired term include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jonathan Ackmann<\/li>\n<li>Ernie Adams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Roanoke City Council typically has two council seats for each <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roanoketexas.gov\/DocumentCenter\/View\/2120\/Roanoke-Ward-Map_2018\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ward<\/a> of the city.<\/p>\n<p>Northwest ISD has three board seats up for election with incumbent candidates running unopposed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Steve Sprowls for Place 5<\/li>\n<li>Lillian Rauch for Place 6<\/li>\n<li>Jennifer Murphy for Place 7<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A second candidate for the Place 5 position, Laura Koehler, filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/resources.finalsite.net\/images\/v1771011023\/nisdtxorg\/d912dwgue9yw37myaq3l\/Place5-LauraKoehler-CertificateofWithdrawal.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">certificate of withdrawal<\/a> Feb. 13.<\/p>\n<p><strong>One more thing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Early voting for the May 2 election will run from April 20-28. Residents can check if they are registered to vote at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarrantcountytx.gov\/en\/elections.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tarrant County<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.votedenton.gov\/voter-information\/voter-lookup\/#VoterEligibilitySearch\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Denton County<\/a> websites.
