Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass doesn\u2019t agree with the 2028 Olympic Committee\u2019s decision to keep Casey Wasserman<\/a> on as the chairman, after it was discovered that he is in the Epstein files. \u201cI cannot fire him,\u201d Mayor Bass told CNN on Monday night. \u201cI do have an opinion. My opinion is that he should step down.\u201d Only the Los Angeles committee board can make decisions about its members, and they agreed to keep Wasserman on board. In the emails, it was discovered he had a flirtatious relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell, who was Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s accomplice in his crimes. \u201cWe found Mr. Wasserman\u2019s relationship with Epstein and Maxwell did not go beyond what has already been publicly documented,\u201d the board shared<\/a> in a statement on February 11. \u201cThe Executive Committee of the Board has determined that based on these facts, as well as the strong leadership he has exhibited over the past ten years, Mr. Wasserman should continue to lead LA28 and deliver a safe and successful Games.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe board made a decision,\u201d Bass concluded. \u201cI think that decision was unfortunate. I don\u2019t support the decision. I do think that we need to look at the leadership.
