After working as a correspondent on 60 Minutes since 2007, Anderson Cooper<\/a> is leaving the program. \u201cBeing a correspondent at\u00a060 Minutes\u00a0has been one of the great honors of my career. I got to tell amazing stories, and work with some of the best producers, editors, and camera crews in the business,\u201d Cooper shared in a statement with Deadline<\/a>. \u201cFor nearly twenty years, I\u2019ve been able to balance my jobs at CNN and CBS, but I have little kids now and I want to spend as much time with them as possible, while they still want to spend time with me.\u201d He\u2019s still working with CNN on Anderson Cooper 360 and the New Year\u2019s Eve show with Andy Cohen<\/a> \u2014 please pour out a shot in respect. Last\u00a0December<\/a>, Cooper renewed his contract with CNN to host\u00a0360\u00a0as well as a weekly program,\u00a0The Whole Story,\u00a0and a podcast,\u00a0All There Is.<\/p>\n In a statement shared with Vulture, CBS News thanked Cooper for his time with the network, writing, \u201cFor more than two decades, Anderson Cooper\u00a0has taken\u00a060 Minutes viewers on journeys to faraway places, told us unforgettable stories, reported consequential\u00a0investigations\u00a0and interviewed many prominent figures. We\u2019re grateful to him for dedicating so much of his life to this broadcast, and understand the importance of spending more time with family. 60 Minutes will be here if he ever wants to return.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
