Cameron Brink<\/strong> might be closer to a return to the WNBA<\/strong> and the Los Angeles Sparks<\/strong> than we thought. A new status update reveals a potential timeline for her first game back.<\/p>\n

She could get back on the floor as soon as this month! (\u201cCould\u201d being the key word\u2026)<\/p>\n

Brink, 23, tore her Anterior Cruciate Ligament during the 15th game of her rookie season in the WNBA<\/a>. It was a pretty gruesome injury. 6-foot-4 does not go down easy.<\/p>\n

Although Brink\u2019s first year in the league was cut short, the Sparks are not in a position to compete for a championships so they are not going to rush her back. A full recovery from a torn ACL requires at least nine months. At least. It normally takes closer to 12 or 14. At least.<\/p>\n

In this instance, Brink tore her ACL on June 18, 2024. She is 13 months removed from the initial injury.<\/p>\n

When will Cameron Brink return to play?<\/p>\n

Her recovery appeared to be ahead of schedule at this time last year. Brink was able to walk without a knee brace less than one month after surgery<\/a>, which seemed to be a great sign. It was even more encouraging when she was able to run on a treadmill without assistance<\/a> back in the middle of May.<\/p>\n

Now the middle of July, Cameron Brink<\/a> was officially upgraded from \u2018Out\u2019 to \u2018Questionable\u2019 prior to Los Angeles\u2019 most recent game against the Indiana Fever on July 11. She didn\u2019t play but that is huge news.<\/p>\n

Brink most recently partook in some on-court \u201cskeleton work\u201d at practice.<\/p>\n

She also continues to partake in shooting, conditioning and ball-handling drills after practices. That is another positive sign for her recovery.<\/p>\n

Brink said on a recent episode \u2018Celebrity Wheel of Fortune\u2019 that it would take her \u201ca couple months\u201d to be back. I believe her episode was filmed at the beginning of the year. A couple months have passed at this point but I would assume it was a figure of speech.<\/p>\n

All of the latest signs point toward a return this season with extremely limited minutes at first. For Cameron Brink to be upgraded from Out to Questionable is a very big deal.<\/p>\n
