Syracuse, N.Y. – Syracuse and parts of Central New York and the Finger Lakes are under a heat advisory today as temperatures could feel close to 100 degrees in some areas, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n

The advisory covers several counties, including Cayuga, Erie, Madison, Monroe, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego and Tompkins.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Syracuse will see temperatures in the upper 80s, though by afternoon it will feel about 10 degrees hotter, according to the weather service.<\/p>\n

The heat comes with a small chance of thunderstorms throughout the day, which expect to clear by 9 p.m.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t expect much relief from the heat overnight. Saturday night\u2019s lows will linger in the mid 70s. <\/p>\n

Temperatures in the Syracuse area Sunday will reach the mid-80s. The heat index will climb again into the 90s, according to the weather service.<\/p>\n

Rain is much more likely throughout the day on Sunday. More than half an inch if forecast in the Syracuse area.<\/p>\n

There is also a high chance of thunderstorms starting in mid-afternoon that could continue through the night and into Monday morning, according to the weather service.<\/p>\n

Isolated flash floods are also possible for parts of Central NY and the Southern Tier.<\/p>\n
