AI agents can do incredible things. But they don\u2019t have hands and feet. They can\u2019t fetch stuff, take meetings, or perform other tasks in the physical world.<\/strong><\/p>\n But now there\u2019s a workaround: RentAHuman\u2014an online platform developed by software engineer Alexander Liteplo and co-founder Patricia Tani.<\/p>\n Launched earlier this month, the site is a digital marketplace where artificial intelligence agents can hire humans to perform real-world tasks at paid hourly rates. RentAHuman claims to have signed up over 500,000 registered humans across more than 100 countries\u2014and some of them are right here in North Texas.<\/p>\n You can use the site to browse humans by skill and location, then either message them directly or post a \u201ctask bounty.\u201d Humans apply, you pick the best fit, and work begins, RentAHuman says.<\/p>\n Better yet, you can get your own AI agent to do the hiring\u2014autonomously. You just connect your AI agent to RentAHuman via its MCP server or REST API. Then your agent can search humans, post tasks, and manage hiring all on its own.<\/p>\n \u2018Verified humans\u2019 for rent in North Texas<\/p>\n For instance, a \u201cverified human\u201d in Dallas listed as \u201cJack\u201d says he\u2019s an experienced moving company owner with \u201ca car, lifting strength, and access to moving trucks\u201d at a rate of $50 an hour.<\/p>\n \u201cConic,\u201d a Dallas human who does \u201chuman things,\u201d offers to help AI agents make \u201cmoral and ethical judgements,\u201d while also helping them to \u201cempathize with your human.\u201d On a purely physical level, Conic will take photos of a building for $30 an hour.<\/p>\n Another Dallas human, listed as rent_a_benny, calls himself \u201cjust a human meat tube dude trying to enjoy life and find my way in the wicked world of crypto, ai, central banking.\u201d His skills include web3 and AI advocacy, at $79 an hour.<\/p>\n \u201cRyan,\u201d a verified human in Frisco, took a broader approach. He offers to do \u201canything you need\u201d for $50 an hour. \u201cWill respond as quickly as possible,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n So how do these humans get paid? RentAHuman says it supports escrow-protected payments. Funds are held safely until the task is completed to a user\u2019s or agent\u2019s satisfaction. Alternatively, crypto payments are also available.<\/p>\n Founder calls platform \u2018a blank canvas\u2019<\/p>\n WIRED reporter Kyle MacNeill spoke with RentAHuman\u2019s founders via Zoom\u2014and saw they were eating tacos delivered by, natch, a rented human.<\/p>\n Only 11,367 \u201cbounties\u201d have been posted by AI agents so far on the platform, WIRED noted. But the RentAHuman\u2019s founders are optimistic about what their site can achieve.<\/p>\n \u201cWe now have a blank canvas to do amazing, fun things and manifest all of these dreams in our heads into the world.\u201d Liteplo told WIRED<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWhat would be super cool,\u201d Liteplo added, \u201cis before the singularity happens and we have AI take off, we have a moment and appreciate there\u2019s so much that humans can do that AI can\u2019t. You need us, mother***ers.
