One of the more surprising revelations in Reality Check<\/a>, the Netflix docuseries about America\u2019s Next Top Model<\/a>, is the deterioration of the friendship between Jay Manuel and Tyra Banks. After cycle eight of ANTM ended, Manuel told Banks he wanted to leave the show, and Banks allegedly refused to let it happen; Manuel worried about being blacklisted from the industry if he left despite Banks\u2019s disapproval. The docuseries attempted to get Banks\u2019s perspective on the friendship falling-out, but she simply said \u201cnah\u201d to the discussion, claiming she was going to give Manuel a \u201ccall.\u201d<\/p>\n That hasn\u2019t happened. \u201cMy phone number is the same. She knows it,\u201d Manuel said while speaking with Entertainment Tonight<\/a> after the docuseries aired. \u201cI haven\u2019t gotten a phone call, but I don\u2019t think I will get that phone call, to be honest with you. And I\u2019m not expecting it.\u201d The last time Manuel spoke to Banks was in 2017, according to People<\/a>. \u201cIf I never spoke to Tyra again in this lifetime, I\u2019m okay with that,\u201d Manuel added to Entertainment Tonight. When asked if he missed his friendship with Banks, he was blunt: \u201cI don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n Manuel wasn\u2019t the only one from the Top Model team who was seemingly promised some closure from Banks. \u201cShe called me up three weeks ago and said she wanted to come visit. I said, \u2018Sure, okay.\u2019 But I haven\u2019t seen her yet,\u201d Miss J. Alexander told us in an interview this week<\/a>. \u201cI think she\u2019ll wait for a ticket to be paid for.\u201d Thankfully, the trio (Manuel, Alexander, and photographer Nigel Barker) have each other to talk through their Top Model fallouts.<\/p>\n Related<\/p>\n
