Reality star Bethenny Frankel<\/a>, 55, shared emotional details of her recent diagnosis<\/a> while urging fans to get tested.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust left the kidney doctor,\u201d the Real Housewives of New York alum said at the start of her new Instagram<\/a> video, which she titled, \u201cHealth update… please get tested.\u201c<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said that I actually have stage 3A chronic kidney disease,\u201d she explained, adding, \u201cwhich is right in the middle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chronic kidney disease is categorized into five stages, with stage 1 being a very mild condition and stage 5 being kidney failure. Stage three has two categories, 3A and 3B. According to the Cleveland Clinic<\/a>, 3A is the most common.<\/p>\n

Frankel said her condition was \u201cnot quite at medication point\u201d but that the doctor told her \u201cwater is your medicine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe found a liver nodule on me in my sonogram, so it\u2019s important to get these tests and stay with this stuff, because you can find other things,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

A liver lesion is an abnormal growth in the liver. There are many types, both cancerous and noncancerous, according to the Cleveland Clinic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Frankel also shared her doctor\u2019s tips on supplements, reminding everyone that each person\u2019s body is unique and reactions are personal.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe really emphasized with big wellness that all the different supplements, whether it\u2019s for your health or for some health benefit or a call out, that people are just running to do everything, and that you have to make sure that your doctor knows about it, because some things can affect different parts of your body on different people differently,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt is not really a one-size-fits-all model,\u201d Frankel said, adding that her doctor had noticed issues with his kidney patients using turmeric and moringa.<\/p>\n

The doctor also told Frankel that her kidneys \u201chad some damage,\u201d presumably due to an \u201canaphylactic allergy episode years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not gonna be quite alarmed yet, and I\u2019ll keep drinking water. He said it\u2019s the most important thing,\u201d she recalled, adding that this dietary change gives her anxiety. \u201cI\u2019m always dehydrated.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just saying it to you because I want you to mind your supplements, mind your water, and mind [that] you are getting tested regularly for things like this,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe also said that it can fluctuate, so right now, this is a step in the wrong direction, but not to totally be alarmed, to come back and get tested in a couple months,\u201d Frankel noted. <\/p>\n

She admitted to feeling anxious and \u201csick to [her] stomach,\u201d though she was trying to stay calm regardless.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Frankel said she would be making many dietary changes<\/a> following her diagnosis, including avoiding ice cream and ibuprofen.<\/p>\n
