Disturbed<\/a> frontman David Draiman has called Tom Morello<\/a> \u201cshameful\u201d for showing his support for Kneecap<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, the guitarist declared that the Irish rap trio are \u201cclearly the Rage Against The Machine of now\u201d<\/a>, praising them for speaking truth to power in their outspoken support for the people of Palestine.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat they\u2019re doing in their art is what people could probably stand to do more in their lives: to really speak truth to power. And, you know,\u00a0Kneecap\u00a0are not terrorists,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is terroristic is, you know, 20,000 dead Palestinian children. That\u2019s the story. Not some Irish rappers who don\u2019t like that that\u2019s happening. [That] should not be the story.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, Draiman has responded to Morello\u2019s comments, replying in a social media post: \u201cShameful. Truly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Draiman is Jewish and has been a vocal supporter of Israel during the ongoing conflict with Gaza.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, he performed alongside members of Anthrax<\/a>, Megadeth<\/a> and Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/a> at the \u2018Back To The Beginning\u2019 Black Sabbath farewell show<\/a> in Birmingham \u2013 which was booked by Morello \u2013 and he was booed by the crowd<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He later addressed the reaction, writing: \u201cAs you can see\u2026 I wasn\u2019t \u2018booed off stage\u2019 as so many people in the press and CERTAINLY #FreePalestine crowd, would have you believe. Yes, there were a few boos when I walked out, but I came to pay homage to my teachers, my idols, the mighty Black Sabbath, and I wasn\u2019t about to let a few Jew hating morons deter that.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded: \u201cAnd I am STILL UNAPOLOGETICALLY A FIERCELY PRO ISRAEL JEW. I will ALWAYS stand up for my people, and I won\u2019t be deterred, intimidated, or shamed out of rocking the asses of the masses. Put that in your pipes and smoke it.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the past, he has\u00a0sung the Israeli national anthem at one of Disturbed\u2019s Tel Aviv concerts<\/a>, he has\u00a0called Roger Waters a \u201cmonster\u201d and an \u201canti-Semitic to his rotten core\u201d,<\/a>\u00a0and he professed in 2022 that\u00a0he \u201cdoesn\u2019t give a shit\u201d if he alienated people with his pro-Israel stance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Kneecap have made headlines all year by declaring on stage at festivals including Coachella<\/a> and Glastonbury<\/a> that Israel is committing a \u201cgenocide\u201d in Gaza.<\/p>\n

They have also come under investigation by police, including for Mo Chara allegedly shouting \u201cUp Hamas, up Hezbollah\u201d and displaying a Hezbollah flag on stage<\/a>. He has since appeared in court and been granted unconditional bail<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The band have consistently\u00a0denied supporting Hamas or Hezbollah<\/a>, and say they do not incite or condone violence, describing the legal action against them as \u201ca carnival of distraction<\/a>\u201d. They have also recently defended their actions on stage,\u00a0arguing that it is not their job to \u201ctell people what\u2019s a joke and what\u2019s not\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0UN has found Israel\u2019s military actions to be consistent with genocide<\/a>, and at least 56,000 Palestinians have been killed in the conflict, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Israel has\u00a0continually denied that what\u2019s going on in Palestine is considered a genocide<\/a>, and has argued that it has not partaken in any war crimes.<\/p>\n
