{"id":604331,"date":"2026-02-20T21:41:23","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T21:41:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/604331\/"},"modified":"2026-02-20T21:41:23","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T21:41:23","slug":"boy-who-fell-on-queensborough-bridge-left-for-dead-by-friends-mom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/604331\/","title":{"rendered":"Boy who fell on Queensborough Bridge left for dead by friends: mom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 16-year-old boy who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2026\/02\/17\/boy-16-falls-50-feet-down-shaft-on-nyc-queensboro-bridge\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">suffered severe injuries after falling 50 feet down a shaft inside the Queensborough Bridge<\/a> was accompanied by at least three other teens at the time of the accident, who recorded him as he screamed for help before taking the boy\u2019s phone and leaving him to die, according to the victim\u2019s mother and video recorded by the teens accused of abandoning him.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters rescued 16-year-old Frankie Allocca from the narrow shaft of a main tower supporting the bridge where it rises over Roosevelt Island around 9 p.m. Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Allocca suffered brain and spinal injuries in the fall, and became hypothermic as he waited more than four hours for rescue, his mother said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe must have been terrified, alone, bleeding, lying there crying, thinking, \u2018I\u2019m going to die,&#8217;\u201d said Vanessa Tineo. \u201cThat is the part that is so devastating to me. To see how he is and the pain he\u2019s been going through.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He was taken to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyp.org\/locations\/newyork-presbyterian-weill-cornell-medical-center\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell<\/a> in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is going to make a full recovery, but the trauma of this will haunt him, remembering the people who were supposed to be my friends left me for dead as I yelled for help,\u201d the victim\u2019s mother said.<\/p>\n<p>Ed Koch Bridge<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" lazyautosizes lazyload\" alt=\"The Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge. (Jefferson Siegel \/ New York Daily News)<\/p>\n<p>The teens who joined Allocca on the Queensborough Bridge are members of a closed Instagram group dedicated to urban exploration, an underground community of thrill seekers who revel in gaining access to abandoned, secure or otherwise off-limits locations, according to another longtime urban explorer with contacts in the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI got notified by a group chat of urban explorers that some kid fell down the Queensborough Bridge and immediately someone sent a video inside the shaft of the bridge,\u201d said the 21-year-old explorer, who gave his name as Michael. \u201cIt was the victim, Frankie, yelling in agony.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michael said that shortly after Allocca fell, the teens with him posted videos of their near-fatal escapade to a closed Instagram group in which they could be seen fleeing the bridge with the victim\u2019s phone. Those videos were quickly leaked to the internet by other members of the group, Michael said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is horrible. It\u2019s disgusting. It is wrong,\u201d said Michael, who created <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/investigate-and-charge-kevin-kana-and-others-for-leaving-their-friend-to-die?recruiter=1031934745&amp;recruited_by_id=5e85e6e0-2cc3-11ea-9e8b-d94a4fcf1b53&amp;utm_source=share_petition&amp;utm_campaign=starter_dashboard_rts&amp;utm_medium=reddit_group&amp;utm_term=starter_dashboard_web&amp;share_id=KsPdCQPcmw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a petition on change.org<\/a> demanding criminal charges for the teens that left Allocca behind. \u201cThis should be an example of what not to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One of the videos posted online depicts the narrow shaft that Allocca fell down. I had it all on GoPro. He\u2019s f\u2013king dead. I heard him fall from the bridge. I have his phone. His bag is still in the f\u2013king bridge,\u201d the teen can heard saying in the video.<\/p>\n<p>Police arrested two teens, a 15-year-old charged Wednesday for criminal trespass and a 14-year-old busted Thursday for reckless endangerment and criminal trespass.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter he was begging for help and saying, \u2018It hurts, it hurts. Help me,\u2019 they proceeded to go down, take his phone, leave him there. Climbed out and didn\u2019t call the police or any of his parents. They tossed his cell phone into either the river or sewers and then left him to die,\u201d Allocca\u2019s mother said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will get justice for my baby. They lied. We were receiving calls from his friends giving me condolences as my son was lying dying. They will not get away with this. I will make sure of it. (Kerry Burke \/ New York Daily News)<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters initially suspected the teen was inside a tower on the Queens side of the bridge after finding an open hatch there, FDNY Lt. Christopher Gaulrapp said.
