\n\tKelly Clarkson<\/a> is opening up about her decision to end her self-titled talk show<\/a> after seven successful seasons.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe \u201cSince U Been Gone\u201d singer appeared on Friday\u2019s episode of NBC\u2019s Today<\/a> show, where she explained that she made the choice to leave her NBC show after realizing how \u201cprecious\u201d life is.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell, I think everybody probably gets the timing, but \u2026 yeah, our family life, the dynamic changed a bit and it has changed for a minute now,\u201d Clarkson said. \u201cI think it\u2019s just \u2014 you\u2019ve got kids, we\u2019ve all got kids, right? \u2014 it\u2019s one of those things when you kinda start seeing life as how precious it is, too.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tClarkson shares daughter River Rose and son Remington with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, who died in August<\/a> at age 48 after battling melanoma. The talk show host said when she announced the end of her show that she wanted to \u201cprioritize my kids\u201d during \u201cthis next chapter of our lives.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tClarkson may be taking a step back from daytime television, but she still has several projects in the works. The singer will serve as a judge on season 29 of The Voice, which premieres on NBC on Monday, and she is preparing for her Studio Sessions Las Vegas residency in July and August.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m really busy. We were talking at dinner last night. I was like, \u2018I know everybody thinks oh, she\u2019s quit.\u2019 I still have other jobs,\u201d she told Today host Carson Daly. \u201cSo I\u2019m still doing stuff. There\u2019s just too much on the plate, so I was like, \u2018You know what, it\u2019s time to kind of pull back.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tClarkson noted that the decision to leave was not an easy one because of the impact on the show\u2019s creative team.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s what was really hard,\u201d she explained. \u201cThe crew\u2019s been incredible. It wasn\u2019t that the show wasn\u2019t doing well. That\u2019s what kind of sucked; it was like, everything was going well. That\u2019s what was really hard. It was people\u2019s jobs. We are a family there as well, so that was a really hard thing for me, but an easy decision as a momma. But it\u2019s a big deal for our team.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPremiering in 2019, The Kelly Clarkson Show<\/a> has won 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four for best daytime talk series.
