CHICAGO (WLS) — A group of activists showed up to the Chicago FBI headquarters on Friday for the third time, demanding a formal investigation into the Department of Homeland Security after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent killed a 38-year-old man in September.<\/p>\n

Protesters are continuing to demand answers in the death of Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez<\/a>, who was killed by an ICE agent on Sept. 12 in Franklin Park after allegedly trying to run the agents over with his vehicle. Protesters dispute that claim from DHS.<\/p>\n

“We want an investigation to be opened immediately,” said Baltazar Enriquez with the Little Village Community Council. “We want to know the name of the agent that killed Silverio, and is he still being employed by ICE.”<\/p>\n

Body camera video obtained from the Franklin Park Police Department through the Freedom of Information Act shows officers speaking with witnesses and ICE agents moments after the deadly shooting.<\/p>\n

The ICE officer who allegedly shot the man after being hit described his own injuries as “nothing major”<\/a> and later, that agent says, “he tried to run us over.”<\/p>\n

ABC7 blurred Villegas-Gonzalez’s body as well as faces of bystanders and witnesses.<\/p>\n

In the body camera video, one of those witnesses explains what he saw to police.<\/p>\n

“They had pulled him over. They cut him off. They got out the car. They were trying to get him, but he reversed. And, I was already pulling to the side, and that’s when — I don’t know if they shot him beforehand, and that’s why he crashed into the trailer,” the driver said. “But I’m assuming he had gotten shot, because why else would he crash into the trailer?”<\/p>\n

On Friday, protesters were let into FBI headquarters for the first time to deliver their letter demanding transparency and a full investigation.<\/p>\n

“They said they would deliver the letter to Special Agent DePodesta but didn’t really give a timeline when and how that will happen,” said activist Samuel Coffey.<\/p>\n

Organizers told ABC7 they will continue showing up there every Friday at 4 p.m. to protest and demand that formal investigation so Villegas-Gonzalez will not be forgotten.<\/p>\n
