{"id":60792,"date":"2025-07-12T23:27:13","date_gmt":"2025-07-12T23:27:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/60792\/"},"modified":"2025-07-12T23:27:13","modified_gmt":"2025-07-12T23:27:13","slug":"1-man-dead-in-downtown-phoenix-crash-involving-teen-driver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/60792\/","title":{"rendered":"1 man dead in downtown Phoenix crash involving teen driver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX \u2014 Detectives are investigating a two-car crash in downtown Phoenix on Saturday morning that left one adult man dead and involved a teen driver, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>Police responded to the area near <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/yE4qREdL8SVTcQhG7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">18th and Van Buren streets<\/a> at around 4:30 a.m. and found a 25-year-old man with \u201ccritical injuries.\u201d He was transported to a hospital but died from his injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Downtown Phoenix crash details<\/p>\n<p>Detectives learned that the unidentified adult victim was \u201cdriving at a high rate of speed\u201d before ramming into another car with a teen driver and multiple passengers.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities said the teen and passengers \u201cleft the area on foot\u201d before police arrived on the scene.<\/p>\n<p>However, detectives contacted the teen when at their residence and they confirmed to driving the car.<\/p>\n<p>No impairment was suspected in the teen driver, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>This is an ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"twitter-follow-button\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pwmoses11\" data-show-count=\"false\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Follow @pwmoses11<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We want to hear from you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0px;\">Have a story idea or tip?
