She&#8217;s now a Wimbledon champion.<\/p>\n<p>The No. 8 seed looked every bit like a top-ranked player in a dominant victory over No. 13 Amanda Anisimova in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>The match took just over an hour to complete while \u015awi\u0105tek did not lose a single set. This was the first Wimbledon women&#8217;s final in 114 years in which one player didn&#8217;t win a single game, <a data-i13n=\"cpos:1;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/wimbledon-women-anisimova-swiatek-f94719d912c5140b4afc66f1845c911f\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:according to the Associated Press;cpos:1;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">according to the Associated Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Playing in her first Grand Slam final, Anisimova looked overwhelmed by the moment. \u015awi\u0105tek broke her serve from the start and stole a 1-0 lead. A five-time Grand Slam winner, this was familiar territory for \u015awi\u0105tek, even if it was her first Wimbledon final.<\/p>\n<p>As if \u015awi\u0105tek\u2019s play wasn\u2019t dominant enough on its own, Anisimova didn\u2019t make matters easier for herself by committing several unforced errors. She had difficulty making first serves and couldn\u2019t hit her backhand with precision.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>If body language and facial expression tells the story, Anisimova looked exasperated at how quickly the match became out of reach for her. That may have helped calm her down, but \u015awi\u0105tek continued her relentless attack. Anisimova created too deep a hole to escape and could never gain a foothold to rally.<\/p>\n<p>\u015awi\u0105tek won her sixth Grand Slam tournament, adding a Wimbledon championship to four French Open titles and a U.S. Open trophy.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"content-blockquote\">\n<p>&#8220;I didn&#8217;t even dream, for me it was way too far,&#8221; \u015awi\u0105tek said in her on-court interview. &#8220;I feel like I am already an experienced player after winning the Slams before but I never expected this one.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"content-blockquote\">\n<p>&#8220;I know I didn&#8217;t have enough today, but I&#8217;ll keep putting in the work,&#8221; Anisimova said in her post-match interview. &#8220;I keep believing in myself and I hope to be back here one day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Though it may provide little solace in the immediate aftermath, Anisimova took a major step in advancing to her first Grand Slam final and <a data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/tennis\/article\/who-is-amanda-anisimova-23-year-old-american-set-to-face-iga-swiatek-in-wimbledon-final-195609163.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:defeating the No. 1 seeded Aryna Sabalenka;cpos:2;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">defeating the No. 1 seeded Aryna Sabalenka<\/a> to get there.
