(File image courtesy of SDG&amp;E)<\/p>\n<p>It was lights out Saturday in San Diego and North and East County, as several power outages hit local communities, according to San Diego Gas &amp; Electric.<\/p>\n<p>The incidents started in the morning with one caused by a tree fire.<\/p>\n<p>The largest, just before 3 p.m. Saturday, was reported in Oceanside, in the Ocean Hills and San Luis Rey communities, affecting 375 customers,\u00a0\u00a0according to SDGE\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdge.com\/residential\/customer-service\/outage-center\/outage-map\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">online outage map<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While the cause was undetermined, SDG&amp;E estimated that electricity would be restored by 8:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Crews earlier had put out a <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofsandiego.com\/crime\/2025\/07\/12\/tree-fire-spreads-to-power-lines-in-logan-heights-outage-reported\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">palm tree fire<\/a> in Logan Heights that caused power lines to explode, leading to an outage for a total of 50 customers near South 30th Street and Ocean View Boulevard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA tree has come into contact with our electric system and our crews are currently on scene making repairs,\u201d SDG&amp;E stated.<\/p>\n<p>Along with Logan Heights, the outage affected Lincoln Park and Mountain View. Power was estimated to be restored by 7 p.m., according to the website.<\/p>\n<p>Power went out for 21 customers in northern Vista starting at 2:22 p.m., according to SDG&amp;E. The estimated restoration time was 8 p.m. <\/p>\n<p>SDG&amp;E reported an outage at 12:23 p.m. in the city of La Mesa, affecting 50 customers, due to damaged equipment. Officials sent a crew to make repairs. The estimated restoration time was 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Damaged equipment led to the power being out for 33 more customers in Carlsbad and La Costa; electricity was set to be restored at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An SDG&amp;E service truck.
