NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 The City of Neptune Beach on Saturday renamed the baseball field at Jarboe Park after a retired police officer who died of COVID-19 complications.<\/p>\n

The field was renamed to the Eddie Bounds Ball Field at Jarboe Park.<\/p>\n

Eddie Bounds is remembered for serving Jacksonville Beach and Neptune Beach for 42 years.<\/p>\n

On Aug. 21, 2021, he died from complications related to COVID-19<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2021, the city council issued a resolution honoring Bounds<\/a> and declaring that Seagate Avenue from A1A to Penman Road be dedicated as \u201cOfficer Paul Eddie Bounds-Legacy Lane.\u201d <\/p>\n
