\n\tAlthough Conan<\/a> O\u2019Brien has been out of the late-night game for nearly five years, he\u2019s still finding plenty of people to hear what he has to say.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 6x Emmy-winning comedian, who hosts the Conan O\u2019Brien Needs a Friend podcast and the HBO\/Max travel show Conan O\u2019Brien Must Go, said he likely reaches \u201cmore people now\u201d that his TBS talk show Conan has been off air since 2021, explaining that the traditional talk show format \u201cis going away.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI left my late-night show four years ago. I\u2019ve had a wonderful time,\u201d O\u2019Brien told the New Yorker<\/a>. \u201cI think I reach more people now, either through the podcast or doing the travel show.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBefore his 11-year run on TBS, O\u2019Brien hosted NBC\u2019s The Tonight Show with Conan O\u2019Brien (2009-\u201910) and Late Night<\/a> with Conan O\u2019Brien (1993-2009).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI have all this freedom to be me in different ways, in different formats,\u201d he explained. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of really beautiful opportunities, and I\u2019ve been having a blast and getting to have types of interviews I never could have had in that old \u2018You\u2019re up in the attic\u2019 format.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tO\u2019Brien continued, \u201cI mean, this old format is going away, but they\u2019re being replaced by a multitude of other ways to connect with people and be funny, and be satirical, and be probing, and let your talent run wild\u2014that in some ways are more freeing.\u201d<\/p>\n
