The Garden Club of Morgan Park-Beverly<\/strong> will hold a meeting<\/strong> on Wednesday, March 4, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a program with Dr. Susan Kirk, of Valparaiso University, who will speak on \u201cThe Tall Grass Prairie in the Chicago Area and its Restoration\u201d at 10 a.m. Meetings are held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 9401 S. At the Meet the Candidate event, Conforti will share her vision and plans for the community, and attendees can ask questions or share concerns with her. Suggested donation is $20. The Chicago Public Schools<\/strong> (CPS) is accepting nominations for the district\u2019s annual Crossing Guard of the Year<\/strong> award program. Nominations are open now and will be accepted until Friday, April 17, at 5 p.m. Chicagoans, including students, school leaders and families, are encouraged to participate in the nomination process for Crossing Guard of the Year. Nominees will be evaluated on factors such as years of service and attendance, among other criteria, and four winners will be named. Nominations can be submitted online at cps.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n
