JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County \u2014 The Jacksonville Police Department have released more information following a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday, July 12. <\/p>\n
Officers responded to Onslow Memorial Hospital following reports of a gunshot victim. The victim, identified as Trevon Wise, succumbed to his injuries, police said.<\/p>\n
Investigators determined that the shooting took place in a vehicle near Huff Drive and Pine Valley Road. The suspect, Andre Derival, reportedly exited the vehicle and returned to his residence located on Pine Valley Road.<\/p>\n
Officers obtained a warrant for Derival’s arrest and deployed the Tactical Team to serve it. Upon entering the residence, officers discovered Derival deceased.<\/p>\n
Authorities say there is no threat to the public. <\/p>\n
