A total of 105 artists and groups received grants of up to $15,000 for specific projects, in categories, including art and social practice, dance, film, multidisciplinary, music, performing arts, theater, and visual arts.<\/p>\n<p>Festival Grantees include the Dia de los Muertos Festival, the Korean-American Society of Houston, <a href=\"https:\/\/glasstire.com\/2023\/07\/24\/review-nela-garzon-and-printhouston-member-artists-at-lhuca-lubbock\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PrintHouston<\/a> 2026, Salsa De Mayo, and <a href=\"https:\/\/glasstire.com\/2025\/11\/11\/zine-fest-houston-returns-to-the-orange-show-november-15\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zine Fest Houston<\/a>, from among 23 organizations receiving grants of up to $10,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>City\u2019s Initiative grantees each receive between $5,000 and $10,000 for specific projects to be completed in 2026. Image courtesy of the City of Houston<\/p>\n<p>Recipients of Let Creativity Happen grants, which total up to $2,500 for individual creatives and organizations to create arts experiences, include <a href=\"https:\/\/glasstire.com\/2020\/12\/06\/francis-anthony-almendarez-navigating-the-archives-within\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anthony Almend\u00e1rez<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/glasstire.com\/2025\/10\/22\/five-minute-tours-the-space-we-make-at-throughline-houston\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carolina Borja<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/glasstire.com\/2026\/01\/05\/review-black-water-green-fruit-natasha-bowdoin-sarah-welch-at-basket-books-art-houston\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Natasha Bowdoin<\/a>, In\u00e9s Mar\u00eda Bravo, <a href=\"https:\/\/glasstire.com\/2024\/05\/15\/sarah-sudhoffs-photographs-move-off-the-wall\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sarah Sudhoff<\/a>, and the Texas Women\u2019s Caucus for Art.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release, HAA explained that \u201cdemand for arts funding continues to outpace available funding growth,\u201d with yearly increases in the number of applications received. Each category received more applications than last year, with a 4% increase in organization grants and a 58% increase of applications for individual artist grants.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Quang Vu, Director of Grants, said, \u201cTo everyone who applied and was not funded, especially those who have shown up year after year, we see you.
