{"id":61751,"date":"2025-07-13T08:16:21","date_gmt":"2025-07-13T08:16:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/61751\/"},"modified":"2025-07-13T08:16:21","modified_gmt":"2025-07-13T08:16:21","slug":"beyond-new-buildings-students-shape-dallas-isds-history","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/61751\/","title":{"rendered":"Beyond new buildings, students shape Dallas ISD\u2019s history"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By actively leading efforts to showcase campusrenovations, Dallas ISD students are helping cement both a stronger bond in the community and a lasting legacy for generations to come.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As summer bond marketing interns in Construction Services\/Bond Office, this select group of students do everything from developing marketing campaigns and social media content to helping plan events and interviewing stakeholders.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey help bridge the past and future by supporting messaging that honors the legacy of historic campuses while promoting the modern upgrades made possible through the bond program,\u201d said Adam Bennett, bond marketing director. \u201cBy helping to document and share stories of schools undergoing renovation or reconstruction, especially those with historic significance, they play a part in preserving institutional memory while celebrating the new opportunities these upgrades bring.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>More than summer interns, these students serve as ambassadors, whose work brings awareness to the Construction Services\/Bond Office, Bennett said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir work enhances transparency and engagement\u2014critical components in ensuring community support for ongoing investment in public education,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Sage D., a rising senior at W.T. White High School, is one of them.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wpa-warning wpa-image-missing-alt alignright size-medium wp-image-74676 lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_1338-3-1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" data-warning=\"Missing alt text\"  data- style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 300px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/200;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen signing up for interviews, I picked anything that had a description that I knew I would enjoy and fit in with, and one of those ended up being bond marketing,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen I thought about bond, I thought, \u2018Oh, it\u2019s going to be like construction and trying to find contractors,\u2019 and I was partly correct.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sage and his fellow interns manage multiple projects as they build campaigns and other outreach efforts for various bond projects, including an annual report for the district\u2019s eight new schools.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis internship provides valuable real-world experience in marketing, communications, public relations, and civic engagement,\u201d Bennett said. \u201cThey develop skills in project management, content creation, and community storytelling, which can translate into a wide range of future career opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A creative at heart, Sage said a highlight of his internship is getting the chance to hone his graphic design skills by creating flyers and other collateral for the bond projects. But his favorite part of his time in the department is the people he\u2019s met along the way, and the supervisors who make him feel seen and valued.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thehub.dallasisd.org\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_1263-1-scaled.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wpa-warning wpa-image-missing-alt size-medium wp-image-74673 alignleft lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_1263-1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" data-warning=\"Missing alt text\"  data- style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 300px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/200;\"\/><\/a>\u201cIt was an instant bond.
