The 54-year-old actor, who has multiple sclerosis and now spends much of her day in bed, tells <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/christina-applegate-hopes-to-empower-others-with-her-revealing-memoir-exclusive-11912521\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">People<\/a> her bedroom has become both a physical refuge and the place where she&#8217;s finally pulling no punches\u2014on her podcast <a href=\"https:\/\/www.messythepodcast.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MeSsy<\/a> and in a new memoir, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hachettebookgroup.com\/titles\/christina-applegate\/you-with-the-sad-eyes\/9780316594929\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">You With the Sad Eyes<\/a>, out March 3. Mornings are reserved for driving her 15-year-old daughter Sadie to school, a routine she calls her &#8220;favorite thing,&#8221; before returning home to manage the pain of MS.&#13;\n                                    <\/p>\n<p class=\"storyParagraph\">&#13;<br \/>\n                                        The book tracks Applegate&#8217;s path from a chaotic childhood\u2014marked by molestation by a babysitter at 5 years old, her mother Nancy Priddy&#8217;s heroin addiction, and further abuse from her mom&#8217;s boyfriend, per <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/christina-applegate-says-she-was-abused-by-a-babysitter-as-a-child-11914418\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Entertainment Weekly<\/a>\u2014to teen stardom on Married&#8230; With Children, abusive relationships, breast cancer, and now MS. She stresses it&#8217;s &#8220;not an inspirational book,&#8221; though she hopes it might still motivate readers.
