I will always do what is best for her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hewitt, 29, added that a lot went into her decision, including her \u201cmental health,\u201d \u201crecovery\u201d and \u201cthe kind of mother\u201d she wants to be alongside her partner.<\/p>\n<p>Elsie Hewitt (seen here in an Instagram shot with partner Pete Davidson) wrote an essay about her decision not to breastfeed her and the comedian\u2019s baby girl, Scottie. Instagram\/@elsie<\/p>\n<p>The model, 29, got candid about the \u201cguilt\u201d she\u2019s felt over her decision in the piece for Elle, published Wednesday. Instagram\/@elsie<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy body is biologically programmed to nourish my baby, and opting out of that can feel like going against something ancient, instinctual and profoundly beautiful,\u201d detailed Hewitt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat guilt doesn\u2019t disappear simply because formula is safe, healthy, and nutritionally complete. I still have to remind myself \u2014 and sometimes literally ask to be told \u2014 that being mentally and emotionally OK is not separate from being a good mother.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hewitt added that she didn\u2019t feel that the pros of breastfeeding would outweigh the cons, sharing that going the natural route could cause \u201cdemand, isolation and exhaustion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI carried my daughter for over nine months,\u201d she explained. \u201cOnce she arrived, I didn\u2019t want to remain her sole lifeline in a way that would further deplete me, hinder my recovery and leave little room for feeding to be shared between my partner and me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hewitt (pictured above with her daughter) said it was a layered decision that took a lot of thought.  elsie\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>The model (seen above with the comedian and Scottie) felt that for her mental health and wellbeing, breastfeeding wasn\u2019t for her. Elsie Hewitt\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWant more celebrity and pop culture news?\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"inline-module__cta\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tStart your day with Page Six Daily.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tThanks for signing up!\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>The new mom \u2014 who <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/12\/18\/parents\/pete-davidson-becomes-a-dad-as-girlfriend-elsie-hewitt-welcomes-first-baby\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">welcomed her daughter with Davidson in December 2025<\/a> \u2014 also noted that she knows her bond with the little one \u201cis sacred and grows through presence, not depletion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To help with her decision, Hewitt told Elle that she was \u201cfortunate\u201d not to have \u201cfelt pressure to breastfeed\u201d from the people in her life, including Davidson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy partner didn\u2019t push me in either direction,\u201d she said of the \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d alum. \u201cMy mother, who breastfed my sisters and me and was proud of that, made a point to tell me, simply, that the decision was entirely mine. She never said anything else, and her restraint meant a great deal to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hewitt (posing with Davidson above) praised her other half for not pressuring her to breastfeed.  elise\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>Hewitt noted that she also had incredible support from her family and medical team. elsie\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>As Page Six previously reported, Hewitt announced the birth of Scottie last December, alongside\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DSbEe0ijVBo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">a series of photos<\/a>\u00a0of her and Davidson, 32, holding the newborn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur perfect angel girl arrived 12\/12\/2025,\u201d she gushed at the time.<\/p>\n<p>The couple named their baby girl Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson in honor of the comedian\u2019s firefighter dad, Scott, who died during the September 11 terrorist attacks.<\/p>\n<p>The actress first\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/07\/28\/parents\/pete-davidsons-pregnant-girlfriend-elsie-hewitt-shows-off-baby-bump-on-pickup-red-carpet\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">debuted her bump<\/a>\u00a0in a July 2025 Instagram post, joking in the caption, \u201cwelp now everyone knows we had sex.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hewitt and Davidson announced they were expecting their first child in July 2025. elsie\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>The couple (seen above with their daughter) announced the birth of Scottie in December 2025. Instagram\/@elsie<\/p>\n<p>Although Scottie is only a few months old, Davidson <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/01\/27\/parents\/pete-davidson-and-girlfriend-elsie-hewitt-tease-plans-for-marriage-baby-no-2\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">revealed the couple\u2019s plans for baby No. 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want her to have a friend, for sure,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-moms\/news\/pete-davidson-and-girlfriend-elsie-hewitt-hint-at-marriage-and-more-kids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">told\u00a0Us Weekly<\/a> in January. \u201cWe love the idea of her being a big sister.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hewitt, meanwhile, said she couldn\u2019t believe they would \u201calready [be thinking] about having another one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In January, the pair (pictured above in a photo shared to Instagram) said they want another baby. elsie\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>Hewitt said at the time that she \u201ccan\u2019t explain how incredible the whole [parenting] thing is.\u201d Instagram\/@elsie<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe idea of that sounds absolutely insane right now. The process of giving birth is so insane, but so empowering once it happens,\u201d she told the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust having this little thing, I really can\u2019t explain how incredible the whole thing is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added, \u201cThe idea of making another one and making a sibling is something I\u2019ve already been like, \u2018I want to do it again.\u2019 They\u2019re so tiny when they come out, and they grow so fast.
