He was declared dead a short time later at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>No arrests were reported in the immediate aftermath of the killing, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phillypolice.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">PPD<\/a> has not publicly identified the victim.\n<\/p>\n<p>A 56-year-old man was arrested after a woman, also 56, was stabbed to death Saturday night in the <a href=\"https:\/\/metrophiladelphia.com\/news\/neighborhoods\/kingsessing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Kingsessing<\/a> neighborhood, investigators said.<\/p>\n<p>Officers were called at around 9:30 p.m. to the 1800 block of S. Yewdall Street, where they found the woman laid out on the street with a stab wound to the chest, authorities said. She was taken to Penn Presbyterian, where she succumbed to her injuries, police added. The PPD did not provide a motive or identify the victim or suspect.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier Saturday, at around 2:45 a.m., a 28-year-old man showed up at Jefferson Methodist Hospital with a wound to his left thigh after shots were fired on the 1400 block of S. 24th Street in <a href=\"https:\/\/metrophiladelphia.com\/news\/neighborhoods\/southphiladelphia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">South Philadelphia<\/a>, investigators said. He was listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n<p>Two young women were hospitalized when gunfire erupted during a fight stemming from a gathering at a short-term rental property, or an \u201cAirbnb party,\u201d as the PPD put it in an incident report.\n<\/p>\n<p>The shooting happened at around 11:15 p.m. Friday on the 2300 block of N. 18th Street in <a href=\"https:\/\/metrophiladelphia.com\/news\/neighborhoods\/northphiladelphia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">North Philadelphia<\/a>. Investigators believe a man fired a gun into a crowd after an altercation at a nearby Airbnb.<\/p>\n<p>An 18-year-old woman was shot in the face and taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition, authorities said. The other victim, a 20-year-old woman, was struck in the stomach, and her injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, at around 9:45 p.m. Friday, a 12-year-old girl was grazed by a bullet when someone began shooting on the 2200 block of N. Delhi Street in North Philadelphia, authorities said. She was taken to St. Christopher\u2019s Hospital for Children with nonlife-threatening injuries, according to the PPD.<\/p>\n<p>Police said a 25-year-old man was in critical condition after he was shot several times in his face and body just after 9:15 p.m. Friday on the 1800 block of N. 27th Street, also in North Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p>He was standing outside of a store when a dark-colored Acura parked, and four men got out of the car, investigators said. They began talking, and another man approached on foot and began shooting at close-range, according to police. One of the men from the Acura also opened fire, detectives said. Both shooters allegedly fled in the car.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information about any of the violence is asked to call or text the PPD\u2019s tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).\n<\/p>\n<p>Homicides are down 17% in Philadelphia compared to the same date last year, and the number of shooting victims has also dropped nearly 10%, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phillypolice.com\/crime-data\/crime-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">according to police data.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Counseling, peer support, and victim advocacy services are available for victims, family members, and others affected by gun violence.
