Piece by piece, Kelly Clarkson<\/a> is ready to kick off her Las Vegas residency.<\/p>\n

The singer, 43,\u00a0was meant to start her \u201cKelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions \u2013 The Las Vegas Residency\u201d at Caesars Palace on Friday, July 4, but had to postpone the shows<\/a> hours before opening night.<\/p>\n

On Friday, July 11, Clarkson addressed the last-minute cancellation and apologized to fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt took me a minute. I\u2019m so sorry,\u201d she told the crowd in a video posted to TikTok<\/a>. \u201cI know some of y\u2019all had tickets for last weekend\u2019s shows. I\u2019m so sorry. We can\u2019t help our bodies sometimes. You know, we get sick, and that happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut thank y\u2019all for showing up,\u201d Clarkson continued. \u201cWe are so excited. This is my favorite residency \u2013 my favorite show I\u2019ve ever put together, because I love being in the studio. That\u2019s where this whole idea came from.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last weekend, the \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d winner explained why she had to delay her shows.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been working 24\/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans,\u201d Clarkson wrote in a\u00a0statement on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cI am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow\u2019s opening at Caesars. The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on\u00a0my voice.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Grammy winner noted that she wants \u201cthe shows to be perfect for y\u2019all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe show is truly incredible,\u201d gushed Clarkson. \u201cThe musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong.\u00a0I can\u2019t wait to be back next weekend and show y\u2019all what we\u2019ve been working on.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cKelly Clarkson Show\u201d host is set to perform in a total of 18 shows until November 15.<\/p>\n

Some fans were disappointed by the news, while others understood.<\/p>\n

One social media user commented, \u201cI\u2019m a huge fan and flew here from Boston spending thousands on tickets and hotels to see your show tomorrow for my 40th birthday. I really want you to be healthy but cancelling this late has such a huge financial impact on your loyal fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

A second follower added, \u201cWhen you ACTUALLY sing live, you are allowed this grace. Rest that incredible instrument.\u201d<\/p>\n

Days later, sources claimed that behind-the-scenes drama ensued<\/a> following her cancellation. <\/p>\n

An insider alleged that Clarkson\u2019s crew was kept \u201ccompletely in the dark,\u201d\u00a0telling The Sun<\/a>, \u201cEveryone working behind the scenes was in complete shock. They woke up Friday expecting a normal day of work and began their day like always.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source shared that the workers weren\u2019t told that the show wasn\u2019t happening until they were well into the work day.<\/p>\n

They claimed that Clarkson has \u201cdefinitely lost the respect and confidence\u201d of those \u201cwho worked their a\u2013 off\u201d for her shows.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe crew was setting up like normal and bam, it hit,\u201d the insider stated. \u201cFans crying about wasting thousands of dollars, fans who flew from outside of the country to see Kelly for the first time.\u201d<\/p>\n

As they put it, \u201cShe doesn\u2019t realize the depth of how much she let people down and most of them were crying they can\u2019t afford to come back another weekend.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
