Chris Hemsworth is calling his family’s move to Australia the “greatest decision”<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
During the Feb. 23 episode of the Smartless podcast, the Thor star spoke about the downsides of living in Los Angeles<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Chris Hemsworth<\/a> is opening up about his family\u2019s decision to move out of Los Angeles and back to Australia.<\/p>\n The Thor star, 42, joined Jason Bateman<\/a>, Will Arnett<\/a> and Sean Hayes<\/a> for the Monday, Feb. 23 episode of the Smartless<\/a> podcast. During the conversation, the actor called his family\u2019s move to Australia the \u201cgreatest decision\u201d he\u2019s made and spoke about the downsides of living in Hollywood.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was right around the time my boys were born, and it was just, we kind of were set up in L.A. and not enjoying it, you know?\u201d he said about his 11-year-old twin boys Sasha and Tristan<\/a>, whom he says with his wife Elsa Pataky<\/a>, 49. The couple also have a 13-year-old daughter India Rose<\/a>.<\/p>\n Chris Hemsworth, Elsa Pataky and their twin boys Tristan and Sasha in July 2025. \u201cLike nothing was shooting there, we were filming kind of everywhere else,\u201d he says. \u201cAnd then\u2026 you come home and there\u2019s paparazzi and all the sort of, the trappings of living in that sort of space.\u201d<\/p>\n He then called the decision to leave \u201cthe greatest decision,\u201d because it offers him a little escape from his professional career.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, when you come back from work, you want to go on a holiday,\u201d he says. \u201cComing home, for me, feels like a holiday. We have a big farm and horses and motorbikes and surf.”<\/p>\n Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth in May 2024 Hemsworth and Pataky, who wed<\/a> in 2010, moved to New South Wales from the United States over a decade ago.
