He used residual water from the hose he was picking up, but that wasn\u2019t enough to extinguish the spot. Pike said his concerns \u201cfell on deaf ears,\u201d so he continued to follow orders to clear out the area. \u201cI haven&#8217;t seen anyone step up and take responsibility. None of my leaders, none of the city leaders, nobody,\u201d Pike said. \u201cI saw something. Fire Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p><b>The background: <\/b>The Lachman Fire was <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/laist.com\/news\/climate-environment\/how-could-the-palisades-fire-have-reignited-after-a-week-experts-explain\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">started<\/a> on New Year\u2019s Day 2025 and was initially contained to 8 acres.
