Texas\u2019 Aiden Robbins turned a pitcher’s duel into an instant classic that has gone viral across social media<\/a> as No. 3 Texas routed No. 9 Coastal Carolina, 8-1.<\/p>\n

Tied 0-0 through 2.5 innings at Daikin Park, home of the Houston Astros<\/a>, when Robbins smashed a 3-2 hanging slider 466-feet to give the No. 3 Longhorns a 2-0 lead over No. 9 Coastal Carolina in the Bruce Bolt College Classic. The ball hit the Phillips 66 train, which prevented it from leaving the park entirely.<\/p>\n

Robbins\u2019 exit velo was 112 MPH, leading to one of the furthest tracked hits in the ballpark\u2019s history. Texas took a 2-0 lead and never looked back. UT starter Ruger Riojas threw five innings of one-hit ball on 11 strikeouts and the Texas bats would hit three more homers to down the Chanticleers 8-1.<\/p>\n

Texas has started the season 9-0, but Friday night’s win was the first against a legitimate top ten team. The comfortable win shows the depth and strengths of this Longhorns baseball team.<\/p>\n

Texas will try to make it 2-0 in the tournament Saturday night against Baylor in Houston. UT will finish the event Sunday afternoon against Ohio State.<\/p>\n
