{"id":62212,"date":"2025-07-13T12:24:28","date_gmt":"2025-07-13T12:24:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/62212\/"},"modified":"2025-07-13T12:24:28","modified_gmt":"2025-07-13T12:24:28","slug":"trump-threatens-to-strip-rosie-odonnells-us-citizenship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/62212\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump threatens to strip Rosie O\u2019Donnell&#8217;s US citizenship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Trump raged Saturday that he\u2019s giving \u201cserious consideration\u201d to taking away\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/03\/11\/entertainment\/rosie-odonnell-confirms-she-moved-to-ireland-after-trump-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">comedian Rosie O\u2019Donnell\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0US citizenship \u2013 but the actress fired back with a flurry of posts ripping him and picturing him with\u00a0Jeffrey Epstein.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The social media sparring between the longtime rivals reignited when Trump argued the former talk show host is a \u201cThreat to Humanity\u201d in a fiery post on Truth Social.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause of the fact that Rosie O\u2019Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,\u201d Trump wrote on Truth Social.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:0.66699219;display:block\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"36518166\" width=\"394\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/rosie-o-donnell-attends-center-108051882.jpg\" alt=\"Rosie O'Donnell at the opening night of &quot;A Transparent Musical.&quot;\" class=\"wp-image-36518166\"  \/>It\u2019s unclear how Trump would go about stripping O\u2019Donnell of her US citizenship.  Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her,\u201d Trump\u2019s post continued. \u201cGOD BLESS AMERICA!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Donnell, 63,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/04\/23\/entertainment\/rosie-odonnell-details-new-life-in-ireland-admits-shes-shocked-ellen-degeneres-left-the-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">moved overseas<\/a>, to the Dublin suburb of Howth, in Ireland, with her 12-year-old child in January in response to Trump\u2019s victory against Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>In March, O\u2019Donnell revealed she and her child, who is non-binary and autistic, were in the process of obtaining Irish citizenship following their trans-Atlantic move.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cA League of Their Own\u201d star clapped back in a series of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DMAtiCSsY9z\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>Instagram posts<\/strong><\/a>, blasting him as a \u201cdangerous old soulless man.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHey Donald \u2013 you\u2019re rattled again? 18 years later and I still live rent-free in that collapsing brain of yours,\u201d O\u2019Donnell\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DMAycutsTlB\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">said in one post<\/a>, featuring a photo of the president posing with Epstein.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou call me a threat to humanity \u2013 but I\u2019m everything you fear: a loud woman a queer woman. A mother who tells the truth an american who got out of the country b4 u set it ablaze,\u201d she railed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou crave loyalty \u2013 I teach my children to question power you sell fear on golf courses \u2013 I make art about surviving trauma you lie, you steal, you degrade \u2013 I nurture, I create, I persist. You are everything that is wrong with america\u2026 I\u2019m not yours to silence. I never was.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear what legal basis Trump could use to strip O\u2019Donnell, who was born on Long Island, of her American citizenship.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Americans cannot\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/01\/us-news\/doj-memo-outlines-plans-for-prioritizing-denaturalization-for-certain-crimes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">lose their US citizenship status\u00a0<\/a>even if they obtain citizenship elsewhere.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.25030525;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"36518168\" width=\"738\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/president-donald-trump-leaving-white-108016015.jpg\" alt=\"President Trump leaving the White House.\" class=\"wp-image-36518168\"  \/>Trump has directed several barbs at O\u2019Donnell dating back to 2006, when the former co-host of \u201cThe View\u201d was critical of his handling of a Miss USA pageant controversy. ZUMAPRESS.com<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/04\/22\/media\/rosie-odonnell-tells-cnn-trump-win-forced-her-non-binary-child-to-flee-to-ireland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">\u00a0feud between O\u2019Donnell and Trump<\/a>\u00a0dates back nearly two decades, to when the \u201cA League of Their Own\u201d actress ridiculed \u201cThe Apprentice\u201d star on \u201cThe View\u201d in 2006.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At the time, O\u2019Donnell chastised Trump for acting like a \u201cmoral authority\u201d when controversy broke out over the winner of that year\u2019s Miss USA pageant.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Trump immediately hit back, describing the lefty comedian as \u201cdisgusting both inside and out.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou take a look at her, she\u2019s a slob. She talks like a truck driver,\u201d Trump told \u201cThe Insider\u201d in 2006.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In August 2015, during the Republican primary debate, then-Fox host Megyn Kelly asked Trump about his use of language like \u201cfat pigs,\u201d \u201cdogs,\u201d \u201cslobs\u201d and \u201cdisgusting animals\u201d to describe women.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnly Rosie O\u2019Donnell,\u201d he retorted.<\/p>\n<p>In April,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/04\/22\/media\/rosie-odonnell-tells-cnn-trump-win-forced-her-non-binary-child-to-flee-to-ireland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">O\u2019Donnell accused Trump<\/a>\u00a0of paying \u201cno mind to any of the laws that the founders stood by and that our country stands for and that is a beacon of shining light and freedom for the rest of the world,\u201d in an interview with CNN explaining her decision to leave the US.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s bad as they promised and even a little bit worse and it\u2019s been heartbreaking and personally very very sad to watch,\u201d she said of Trump\u2019s second stint in the White House.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Donnell told NewsNation host Chris Cuomo in June that she believes she can be a better mother in Ireland than in the US under Trump.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cComing to Ireland was totally a way to take care of myself and my non-binary autistic child, who\u2019s going to need services and help and counseling and all the things that he\u2019s [Trump is] threatening to cut in his horrible plan of the big, beautiful bill,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/26\/media\/rosie-odonnell-tells-chris-cuomo-she-was-very-depressed-and-overdrinking-after-first-trump-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">she said<\/a>\u00a0on the \u201cChris Cuomo Project\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Donnell found coping with Trump\u2019s first term while living in the states \u201cvery difficult,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was very, very depressed. I was overeating.
