{"id":62250,"date":"2025-07-13T12:46:17","date_gmt":"2025-07-13T12:46:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/62250\/"},"modified":"2025-07-13T12:46:17","modified_gmt":"2025-07-13T12:46:17","slug":"a-collective-reflection-on-morocco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/62250\/","title":{"rendered":"A Collective Reflection on Morocco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rabat \u2013 The Abla Ababou Gallery in Rabat has opened its summer exhibition \u201cAlone Together.\u201d Curated by Moroccan photographer Khalil Nemmaoui, the group show brings together 10 artists from Morocco and abroad to explore themes of identity, solitude, memory, and everyday life.<\/p>\n<p>The Alone Together <strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.moroccoworldnews.com\/2025\/07\/225634\/abla-ababou-gallery-presents-alone-together-group-exhibition-in-rabat\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">exhibition<\/a><\/strong> presents a wide range of photographic styles, from documentary to experimental, that offer intimate and personal perspectives on the world we live in today.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Through their different lenses, the artists reflect on what it means to be connected, or alone, in a rapidly changing society.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" data-od-replaced- data-od-xpath=\"\/HTML\/BODY\/DIV[@class='jeg_viewport']\/*[5][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[2][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[7][self::DIV]\/*[2][self::DIV]\/*[4][self::FIGURE]\/*[1][self::IMG]\" data-dominant-color=\"737174\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #737174;\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-228909 not-transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-07-12-at-11.51.13-AM-300x200.webp.webp\" alt=\"Alone Together exhibition\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\"  \/>Alone Together exhibition<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a time of great change, filled with many personal and individual emotions,\u201d curator Khalil Nemmaoui told Morocco World News.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInstinctively, I chose 10 people whose work is completely different from one another, but in the end, based on what I thought, and which has, in a way, been emphasized, supported, and validated by the public,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><b>A testimony about Morocco<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nemmaoui added that their work comes together to form a kind of \u201ctestimony\u201d about the Morocco we are living in today.<\/p>\n<p>One of the featured artists, Zineb Andress Arraki, presented a deeply personal series titled Les Gens de Peu (\u201cPeople of Little Means\u201d), capturing quiet moments from everyday Moroccan life.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" data-od-replaced- data-od-xpath=\"\/HTML\/BODY\/DIV[@class='jeg_viewport']\/*[5][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[2][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[7][self::DIV]\/*[2][self::DIV]\/*[11][self::FIGURE]\/*[1][self::IMG]\" data-dominant-color=\"78736f\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #78736f;\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-228910 not-transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-07-12-at-11.51.14-AM-1-300x200.webp.webp\" alt=\"Alone Together exhibition\" width=\"623\" height=\"415\"  \/>Alone Together exhibition<\/p>\n<p>She told MWN that she initially wanted to present another body of work. But it was Marie Soulama from Le Monde who pushed her to show this series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a book called Les Gens de Peu by Pierre Sansot, and for me, he expresses so beautifully what it means to be \u2018people of little means.\u2019 This series illustrates that excerpt from his writing,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p>The photos, taken in Morocco, form part of a wider project she hopes to continue internationally. \u201cIt explores architecture, but also objects,\u201d she added. \u201cFor me, Qays and Layla are like the Romeo and Juliet of design.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img data-od-replaced- data-od-xpath=\"\/HTML\/BODY\/DIV[@class='jeg_viewport']\/*[5][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[2][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[1][self::DIV]\/*[7][self::DIV]\/*[2][self::DIV]\/*[15][self::FIGURE]\/*[1][self::IMG]\" data-dominant-color=\"666067\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #666067;\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-228911 not-transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-07-12-at-11.51.14-AM-300x200.webp.webp\" alt=\"Alone Together exhibition\" width=\"649\" height=\"432\"  \/>Alone Together exhibition<\/p>\n<p>When asked why she chose to focus on \u201cles gens de peu,\u201d she replied: \u201cBecause, in fact, we are all les gens de peu. Because the shroud doesn\u2019t have pockets. Because the only thing we truly have is the few square centimeters of our brains. Because we\u2019re all going to die, and at some point, we need to be humble.
