{"id":623901,"date":"2026-03-01T05:32:27","date_gmt":"2026-03-01T05:32:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/623901\/"},"modified":"2026-03-01T05:32:27","modified_gmt":"2026-03-01T05:32:27","slug":"fcc-approves-34-5-billion-charter-cox-merger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/623901\/","title":{"rendered":"FCC Approves $34.5 Billion Charter-Cox Merger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe FCC has signed off on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/charter-communications\/\" id=\"auto-tag_charter-communications_1\" data-tag=\"charter-communications\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Charter Communications<\/a>\u2019 $34.5 billion acquisition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/cox\/\" id=\"auto-tag_cox_1\" data-tag=\"cox\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cox<\/a> Enterprise.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe mega-merger was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/charter-spectrum-cox-mega-deal-merger-1236219059\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced <\/a>in May 2025, and will see Charter, the second largest cable company in the U.S. acquire Cox, another one of the largest cable companies, with six million subscribers. The combined entity will take the Cox name and use the Spectrum brand name for the consumer market.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPer the agreement, Charter will indirectly control Cox\u2019s residential broadband, video, mobile, and voice businesses; its advertising and enterprise businesses; and its Segra, UPN, and RapidScale businesses. The FCC notes that the combined company to investing billions of dollars to upgrade its network and deliver high-speed service to homes and businesses across the country, including bringing internet to rural areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cBy approving this deal, the FCC ensures big wins for Americans. This deal means that jobs are coming back to America that had been shipped overseas. It means that modern, high-speed networks will get built out in more communities across rural America. And it means that customers will get access to lower priced plans.
