Silo Springs is the initial phase of a decadelong development at the site, according to a press release from Moody National Cos. and <a class=\"tag tag-6459\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/tags\/arch-con\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag-id=\"6459\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Arch-Con<\/a> Corp., the general contractor for the phase.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Future phases include 80K SF of retail, multifamily and possibly an office and boutique hotel component. Moody purchased the property in December 2022, according to a spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cSince we purchased this parcel, the size of five downtown city blocks, we partnered with our design, development and construction team to find the most optimal integration of the silos as a significant feature of the development,\u201d Moody CEO <a class=\"tag tag-101641\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/tags\/brett-moody\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag-id=\"101641\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Brett Moody<\/a> said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The developers plan to cut pedestrian walkways through the silos to connect from retail on Westview Drive to retail on the ground floor of the Phase 2 structure, which will include a high-end multifamily building called Silo Villas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe also plan a water feature within the silos, creating an active art installation set in the middle of the development,\u201d Moody said. \u201cWe view this parcel like a lady-in-waiting whose debut, after a decades-long wait, has finally arrived.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>                        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/1750589843_18_placeholder.png\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Placeholder\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\n      Courtesy of Moody National Cos.\n    <\/p>\n<p>\n      Groundbreaking of Silo Springs\n    <\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Phase 1\u00a0includes the ground-up construction of Silo Springs and a refresh of\u00a0the historic silos with paint, lighting and signage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Silo Springs, designed by PVEDI and <a class=\"tag tag-36735\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/tags\/stantec\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag-id=\"36735\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Stantec<\/a>, will have five stories of apartments, totaling 364K SF, with one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts. The wrap-style project is designed around a 165K SF, six-story parking garage.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Arch-Con previously collaborated with Moody on projects including Village Towers, the 350K SF <a class=\"tag tag-1766\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/tags\/mixed-use\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag-id=\"1766\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">mixed-use<\/a> office development housing Moody\u2019s headquarters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe are eager to work with Moody National Companies again,\u201d Arch-Con Senior Vice President Michael Vaughn said in a statement. \u201cThis high-end wrap project will be a stunning addition to West Houston and integrating the silos into the design will be a significant draw to the development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In other silo news this week, the 130-foot historic rice silos at 10031 Hempstead Highway in <a class=\"tag tag-56979\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/tags\/spring-branch\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag-id=\"56979\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Spring Branch<\/a> East were brought down, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/houston\/news\/2026\/02\/25\/historic-hempstead-long-point-rice-silos-torn-down.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the Houston Business Journal reported<\/a>.
