PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014Above-normal temperatures are expected to continue through Monday, but changes are on the way. These changes include dropping temperatures and increasing thunderstorm chances later this week.<\/p>\n
Highs for Sunday and Monday are expected to be near 111\u00b0F in the Valley. The normal high is 107\u00b0F, so this will be 4 degrees above normal. While this is not considered extreme heat, it is still quite warm, so please make sure you have water handy and a source of shade nearby.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, temperatures are expected to drop to around 108\u00b0F, which is just a bit above normal. There may be some thunderstorms in the higher terrain east of Phoenix, with a slight chance that one or two of those storms reach the Valley.<\/p>\n
Wednesday and Thursday may be our best chance of the week to get some storms in the Valley. As of now, those chances are 30% on Wednesday and 40% on Thursday. In addition, temperatures are expected to fall below normal, with highs of 104\u00b0F on Wednesday and 102\u00b0F on Thursday. There is a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Friday, with only a slight chance on Saturday. By Saturday, temperatures may begin to rise slightly above normal.<\/p>\n
