Oil prices rise sharply in market trading after attacks in Middle East disrupt global energy supply<\/a><\/p>\nPresident Trump said in his address over the weekend, the “objective is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime.”<\/p>\n
Chicago-area congressional leaders are also raising their questions and concerns.<\/p>\n
“There clearly wasn’t anything in the near term which posed a threat to Israel, the U.S., or any of our other allies,” Illinois U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley said. “This was a war of choice – our country is at war.”<\/p>\n
Congressman Quigley, a member of the House Intelligence Committee, says he has not yet been briefed.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, ABC News reports the bipartisan “Gang of 8” and top national security leaders are set to receive a classified briefing from the Trump administration on Monday.<\/p>\n
