Jack Hughes, a New Jersey Devils forward, had the audience howling when he described the dorm room setup at the Olympics, where he roomed with his older brother, Quinn, a Minnesota Wild defenseman.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe walked in and the beds were like this far apart from each other,\u201d Jack said, holding his hands a couple feet apart. \u201cAnd then the first thing we did, we were like, \u2018We\u2019ve got to move these beds.\u2019 So we started shifting things around. I didn\u2019t want to roll over and be like this far from Quinn.\u201d<\/p>\n
Quinn said, \u201cThere\u2019s a couple nights where I\u2019m rolling around and he\u2019s like, \u2018Dude, you\u2019ve got to stop rolling around.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
But, he added, they loved it: \u201cI felt like I was a freshman at Michigan again.\u201d<\/p>\n
After the Hugheses talked about the \u201cmayhem\u201d of the room and how messy Quinn\u2019s side became by the end of the Olympics, Fallon turned his attention to Jack\u2019s missing front teeth<\/a>. He lost them toward the end of regulation in the gold-medal game, then scored the gold medal-clinching goal in overtime.<\/p>\n Fallon, a hockey fan who attends many New York Rangers games and has had Henrik Lundqvist on his show three times since 2022, said, \u201cThat is the most hockey thing I could ever think of happening in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n Jack said Quinn came up to him during the final TV timeout and told him, \u201cIt\u2019s not that bad.\u201d<\/p>\n Fallon said he noticed that Jack hasn\u2019t gotten his teeth repaired yet and maybe he shouldn\u2019t: \u201cI feel like this might be your thing.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI can promise you this won\u2019t be my thing,\u201d Jack said.<\/p>\n In the audience was Knight\u2019s fianc\u00e9e, Olympic speedskater Brittany Beau, to whom Knight proposed the morning before the gold-medal game. Fallon showed a picture of Knight proposing and pointed out how gutsy it was for her to pull out the ring over a storm grate.<\/p>\n \u201cI like high-pressure situations, I guess,\u201d she said. \u201cI didn\u2019t think about the grate before hovering over it.\u201d<\/p>\n
