In recent years, \u2018713 Day\u2019 has become something of an unofficial holiday in the area.<\/p>\n On Saturday, July 12, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m., the Clutch City Dancers and the \u201cRockets Launch Crew\u201d will host clinics at Moody Park and Moses LeRoy Park. Both parks have been recently renovated through contributions from the team\u2019s Clutch City Foundation, Memorial Hermann, and the City of Houston.<\/p>\n Open to guests ages 7-14 and all skill levels, the clinic will teach dance moves and feature a fun group routine, according to the team\u2019s announcement.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Sunday\u2019s \u201cHouston Rockets 713 Day of Fun!\u201d event will take place at Root Memorial Square Park from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. while featuring an appearance from Sheryl Swoopes, a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and formerly a star player on the WNBA\u2019s now-defunct Houston Coments.<\/p>\n Along with the team\u2019s Clutch the Bear mascot, Swoopes will join guests for 3-point contests, skills challenges, and entertainment featuring a live DJ and more. Guests can also enjoy family-friendly activities such as face painting, balloon artists, inflatables, and a variety of food trucks.<\/p>\n Fans can register for both events at\u00a0www.nba.com\/rockets\/713day<\/a>. Root Memorial Square Park is located just across the street from the team\u2019s Toyota Center home arena in downtown Houston.<\/p>\n On Friday, the team hosted a basketball skills development camp<\/a> (presented by Adidas) at Toyota Center for young players around the region.<\/p>\n
