New York City pols backing socialist Zohran Mamdani for mayor are just \u201crecruiting people<\/a> to move to Florida,\u2019\u2019 Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) said Sunday \u2014 calling the situation \u201cinsanity.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery elected official of New York on the Democratic side seems like they\u2019re just recruiting people to move to Florida. It\u2019s just insanity,\u201d Scott said on <\/a>WABC 770 AM\u2019s \u201cCats Roundtable\u201d program.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you going to vote for somebody who wants to kill your job, ruin your kid\u2019s education and then also make you less safe? That\u2019s what they\u2019re doing,\u201d the senator told host John Catsimatidis.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you going to vote for somebody who wants to kill your job, ruin your kid\u2019s education and then also make you less safe? That\u2019s what they\u2019re doing,\u201d the senator told host John Catsimatidis.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t know what these Democrats think they are doing. Who do they represent?
\u201cWe\u2019re not going to do that in Florida,\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n

Florida politicians and business trade groups have been tripping over themselves to woo Big Apple CEOs and residents who are worried about the likelihood of Mamdani being elected mayor and pushing for tax hikes of up to $9 billion on the wealthy residents and corporations to pay for his agenda of more affordable housing, child care and free-bus fare fares.<\/p>\n

Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer<\/a>, for one, is rolling out the red carpet and beaches, along with Palm Beach County economic development officials and Florida\u2019s Council of 100 business leaders.<\/p>\n
