A pedestrian was killed after being hit by an SUV\u00a0 on the city’s Northwest Side on Tuesday evening. <\/p>\n

The crash happened around 6:15 p.m. in the 4000 block of West Foster Avenue in the North Park neighborhood. <\/p>\n

According to Chicago police, a female pedestrian, whose age was not released, was hit near the street by a westbound Chevrolet SUV, driven by a 70-year-old man, on Foster Avenue. <\/p>\n

She was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Major Accident Investigation Unit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No further information was immediately available.<\/p>\n
