Three people \u2014 two men and a woman \u2014 were wounded and hundreds of fairgoers fled. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Turner was almost immediately arrested. He told police he was d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/crime\/2023\/10\/16\/alleged-state-fair-of-texas-shooter-told-police-he-acted-in-self-defense-affidavit-says\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">efending himself and his family after feeling threatened by someone who approached him<\/a>, according to an arrest-warrant affidavit. Questions remain if the alleged gunman circumvented safety measures or whether human error led to lapses in security.
