{"id":63302,"date":"2025-07-13T22:19:51","date_gmt":"2025-07-13T22:19:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/63302\/"},"modified":"2025-07-13T22:19:51","modified_gmt":"2025-07-13T22:19:51","slug":"san-antonio-man-charged-with-making-threats-against-president-trump","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/63302\/","title":{"rendered":"San Antonio man charged with making threats against President Trump"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kwtx.com\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/kwtx.com\"><b>SAN ANTONIO, Texas (KWTX) &#8211;<\/b><\/a> A San Antonio man was arrested after threatening the President of the United States ahead of his visit to the Texas Hill Country. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to court documents, Robert Herrera, 52, commented on a San Antonio news outlet\u2019s July 10 Facebook post pertaining to President Donald Trump\u2019s planned visit to the Texas Hill Country. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Using the handle, \u201cRobert Herrer,\u201d Herrera allegedly commented, \u201cI won\u2019t miss.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The man\u2019s alleged threat was accompanied with a photo depicting President Trump surrounded by U.S. Secret Service agents immediately after the July 13, 2024, assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A criminal complaint alleges that a separate Facebook poster replied to \u201cRobert Herrer\u201d stating, \u201cyou won\u2019t get the chance, I promise,\u201d to which \u201cRobert Herrer\u201d responded to, \u201cI\u2019ll just come for you.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Accompanying that statement, \u201cRobert Herrer\u201d included a photo of an assault rifle and loaded magazines,&#8221; the document states. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Federal officials said Herrera was arrested the same day and is facing a federal charge of making threats against the President and interstate threatening communications. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison for each charge. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI would like to thank the San Antonio Police Department and the FBI San Antonio Field Office for assisting the U.S. Secret Service in this matter,\u201d said Special Agent in Charge Brian J. Gibson for the U.S. Secret Service San Antonio Field Office. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cInvestigating threats towards individuals under Secret Service protection are treated as our highest priority. This is one of the countless reasons the Secret Service prides ourselves on forging and maintaining relationships with other law enforcement agencies. As this is an ongoing investigation, the Secret Service will have no further comment on this incident.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWhile the FBI fully supports and defends every American\u2019s right to free speech, it is important to understand that threatening violence against any individual is not constitutionally protected speech, it is a federal crime,\u201d said Special Agent in Charge Aaron Tapp of the FBI\u2019s San Antonio Field Office. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe take all threats to human life with the utmost seriousness, and we urge others to do the same.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 KWTX.
