The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 announcements were not followed by Samsung\u2019s tri-fold teaser, which rumors claim will officially be called the Galaxy G Fold<\/a>. Fortunately, the Korean giant has a team that is laser-focused on the device\u2019s inception, as the company\u2019s mobile head mentioned that Samsung is in the middle of launching the flagship by the end of the year after it has ironed the product\u2019s usability. However, a company spokesperson has made a statement that goes in the entirely opposite direction, stating that the tri-fold smartphone has been ready for a while and the only reason it has yet to grace the market is due to the lack of commercial viability.<\/p>\n

On The Korea Times, the acting head of Samsung Electronics\u2019 Device Experience Division, Roh Tae-moon, also called TM Roh, talked about the existence of the company\u2019s tri-fold flagship. Interestingly, the executive says that the name of the handset has yet to be decided, but the company\u2019s goal is to launch it by the end of the year. In short, what Roh is suggesting is that the product is yet to be near completion.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are working hard on a tri-fold smartphone with the goal of launching it at the end of this year. We are now focusing on perfecting the product and its usability, but we have not decided its name. As the product nears completion, we are planning to make a final decision soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A Samsung spokesperson had a conversation with\u00a0Android Authority<\/a>\u00a0and hinted that the device is ready. The only reason why it has yet to make it to the market, and that too just two regions<\/a>, is because the company is unsure if the smartphone\u2019s launch will be a successful one. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had a tri-fold for some time, designed and everything. So it\u2019s not a new concept to us. What we\u2019re debating is the viability. When I say the viability, is there really a demand for this form factor?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Bear in mind that Samsung is rumored to stamp a 4 million Korean won price tag on the tri-fold flagship, which converts into nearly $3,000<\/a>, making it more or less an elusive product for the masses of customers due to its ridiculous MSRP. At this point, we have to lean more towards what TM Roh has said, given that he is Samsung\u2019s mobile head, and we will return with more updates in the near future.<\/p>\n
