A man suspected of breaking into a Phoenix home was shot and killed by the homeowner early on July 13, according to the Phoenix Police Department.<\/p>\n
At about 7:45 a.m., Phoenix police officers responded to a call about a burglary at a home in the area of 7300 N. 12th Avenue, which is just northeast of the intersection of West Glendale and North 15th avenues, according to Sgt. Brian Bower.<\/p>\n
As officers were getting to the scene, it was reported that the homeowner had shot the burglary suspect. He was pronounced dead at he scene, Bower said.<\/p>\n
The homeowner was cooperating with the police investigation, Bower said.<\/p>\n
Police have not yet identified the man killed. Bower said police would not release the man’s identity until his next of kin were notified and detectives completed their initial report.<\/p>\n
