Ontario County Sheriff&#8217;s Office<\/p>\n<p>Tapscott, a Geneva cop for 13 years, also served as a Drug Abuse Resistance Education, or D.A.R.E., officer in the community, a program founded in 1983 geared toward keeping kids away from drugs and gangs.<\/p>\n<p>Tapscott\u2019s plea at an Ontario County Court came last month after new charges came to light, including three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, and two counts of official misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>His plea deal will see him serve just 16 weekends in jail and five years probation, special prosecutor Christine Callanan told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochesterfirst.com\/crime\/former-geneva-police-officer-pleads-guilty-to-selling-drugs-while-on-duty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Rochester First<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Three other officers allegedly involved in Tapscott\u2019s scheme were also indicted, accused of being solicited by the rogue officer to buy and sell narcotics, both while on- and off-duty, including Geneva Police Sgt. David Felice, former Geneva Police Officer Nathan Jacon, and William McGowan, according to Syracuse.com.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.75945017;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38685107\" width=\"1024\" height=\"582\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/former-geneva-police-officer-pleaded-122833318.jpg\" alt=\"A black and white Geneva police vehicle with a &quot;POLICE City of Geneva&quot; decal on its side.\" class=\"wp-image-38685107\"  \/>Investigators found he sold Adderall, a prescription Schedule 2 substance, out of his squad car at a used car dealership last year. WROC<\/p>\n<p>Jacon resigned in August and Felice was placed on administrative leave as the investigation began, Geneva Police Chief Ron Eveland told <a href=\"https:\/\/13wham.com\/news\/local\/fourth-suspect-charged-in-prescription-drug-sales-scheme-tied-to-geneva-police-michael-tapscott-nathan-jacon-david-felice-william-mcgowan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">WHAM<\/a>.
