A man was killed Saturday night after being attacked by multiple dogs at a residence in Lancaster, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Authorities responded around 10:30 p.m. to the 44000 block of 22nd Street to a call of dogs attacking someone in a home’s backyard.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, deputies found a man down with four dogs in the backyard.<\/p>\n
One of the dogs became vicious, prompting deputies to fire a round at the dog’s leg. The dogs scattered and medics were able to reach the victim.<\/p>\n
The man was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.<\/p>\n
Video showed Animal Control officers removing several dogs and puppies from the property following the incident.<\/p>\n
Neighbors tell NBC4 that law enforcement frequently visits the property.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe saw them start bringing out the dogs and unfortunately, you know, a couple of the dogs didn\u2019t make it,” said a neighbor who did not want to be identified. “They had to take care of business to try and save the man\u2019s life, but there was also a child that was in the home that we have never seen, that apparently DCFS had to get involved.\u201d<\/p>\n
The man was known to the residents of the house, according to police.
