A juvenile died after being transported to the hospital following being struck and pinned under a car at around 2 p.m. on Sunday near the 2000 blook of Tango Loop in Chula Vista, according to the Chula Vista Police Department. <\/p>\n
The juvenile was riding a stand-up electric scooter, and bystanders used a rolling hydraulic jack to lift the vehicle and free the juvenile, according to the Chula Vista Police Department. <\/p>\n
The Chula Vista Police and Fire Department arrived at the scene to render aid, and the juvenile was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. <\/p>\n
The name of the juvenile is being withheld pending notification to family members. <\/p>\n
The Chula Vista Police Department is investigating the crash. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the collision, and there is no indication any other vehicles were involved, the police department said. <\/p>\n
