Newsmax <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">She continued, \u201dLast month\u2019s jobs report was just released moments ago, with the economy adding 92,000 jobs in February.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">McBride, 41, was quickly corrected by her co-host, Marc Lotter, who <a onclick=\"_sendArticleBodyInlineLinkClickAnalytics(&#039;https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/republican-senator-has-to-remind-newsmax-host-who-he-is-on-air\/&#039;)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/republican-senator-has-to-remind-newsmax-host-who-he-is-on-air\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/republican-senator-has-to-remind-newsmax-host-who-he-is-on-air\/\">grabbed headlines himself last month<\/a> for failing to recognize a Republican senator who was a guest on the show. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cActually, we lost 92,000 jobs,\u201d he said to McBride on Friday morning. \u201cThat\u2019s alright, we lost 92,000 jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">McBride, who is the daughter of the <a onclick=\"_sendArticleBodyInlineLinkClickAnalytics(&#039;https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mxbdGNny19A&#039;)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mxbdGNny19A\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mxbdGNny19A\">former executive director<\/a> of the Georgia Republican Party, Richard McBride, immediately deflected blame and tried to laugh off the gaffe. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cOK,\u201d she responded. \u201cSo that was wrong in the script. Sorry about that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Donald Trump spoke at a rally in Iowa on Tuesday as he campaigns\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/HCVJLTMRL5GTHLW5ZYWTV3Y2KY.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"533\"\/>Trump insisted that the &#8220;roaring economy is roaring like never before,&#8221; during his record-setting 108-minute address.  Win McNamee\/Getty Images <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Things got back on track from there, with the show welcoming an economic expert who bluntly said, \u201cYou are going to see a lot of negative headlines on this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Tim Doescher, the executive director of Unleash Prosperity, noted that the jobs report was poor not just because of the most recent job losses, but because revisions to previous reports had made them even worse for the state of the economy under 79-year-old President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The number of jobs added at the end of last year was revised down by 65,000 in December, meaning the U.S. actually lost 17,000 jobs that month. The markets reacted negatively to the news, with the DOW plunging roughly 900 points as the S&amp;P 500 and Nasdaq dropped 1.6 percent each. The unemployment rate ticked up from 4.3 percent in January to 4.4 percent last month.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">That bad news comes amid soaring gas prices across the country\u2014a direct result of Trump\u2019s war in Iran. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, Patrick De Haan, said Friday that the average price for a gallon of gas had officially reached $3.35, up 37 cents from just a week ago. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">De Haan said prices will \u201cvery likely soon become one of the largest weekly increases to average gas prices and the largest since 2022.\u201d He estimated on Thursday that prices could climb as high as $3.55 on average if Trump\u2019s war with Iran, which has no clearly stated goals or end date, continues to rage on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A Newsmax host was forced to apologize on air after getting a major news story totally wrong.
